All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.
Hebrews 11:39 NLT
The reward for faith is not the physical manifestation of what you were believing God for. While it is nice to see the things that you prayed for come into fullness, this can not be the ultimate basis of having faith. If it were, then the “Fathers of faith” had faith in vain, and faith is a hit and miss game (you put the effort in, then cross your fingers to see whether it will bring you fruit or not).
Faith is a seed that you sow to eternity. It is the physical component of partnering with Abba to see His will done on earth, and it activates your place in His eternal plan.
The reward for faith is eternal: it makes you a part of the body (salvation), a part of the cloud of witnesses, a part of the saints who will reign with Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the redemptive power of the cross is one of the biggest examples: it secures you as a son, accepted in the Beloved.
