Live from the inside out

2 Cor 13

Even though my human nature is weak, it isn’t an excuse good enough for my spirit to be weak.

Too often, we live our lives to impress, to give others the impression that we’re awesome. We want to project the perfect persona, the ‘spiritual’ person who has conquered sin.

But on the inside, we’re hurting, we’re broken, and we’re shattered, holding the pieces together with fake smiles and cheerful attitudes.

If we’re going to be healed, we need to let it all go, spread the pieces in front of our Maker, and let Him rebuild us afresh. Allowing Him to freshen us up from the inside, to put us together again.

As North Avenue sang, that’s where the healing starts,
When we surrender the fragments and let Him beautify us, we begin to express His beauty and grace.

Of course, there’s the part of staying in His arms, basking in His word and living by His precepts …but we’ll talk about that another day.

Shalom
